Every gaming table has its own approach to bringing heroes to life; we are no exception. The Gooey Guide to Character Creation explains our "Hero-focused" philosophy, designed to create characters who are tough and resilient right from the start. As creators, we aim to provide first-level characters with enhanced resources, allowing GMs to build more challenging encounters without sacrificing the story. This document is a combination of our convention play experience and our desire to help you build characters that align with the strength and capabilities of our official pre-generated characters.
We wanted to make sure this material was available for anyone to use in their own games. Inside, you'll find our optional guidelines on ability scores, hit points, feats, and spell slots, as well as how to integrate the unique playable races of Zyathé, such as the Sarth, Aethyr, and Goruund. We also detail how to use the Blood-Touch system to represent characters like Dragonborn, Aasimar, and Tieflings within the world. Use this guide to understand where we come from, or to empower the heroes in your own campaign from their very first session.
