Originally designed for convention gameplay, this adventure serves as the chilling prelude to the Crovenloft saga. With cursed relics, lurking spirits, and the constant threat of a vampire’s wrath, The Ghost Stone is a perfect one-shot or a launch point for a longer, vampirically-themed campaign within the Barrowlands of the Environs of Gyzaengaxx.
The village of Etholmm hides a terrible legacy… an ancient tome called The Book of Dread, said to hold secrets too dangerous to read. Only one soul knows the word to open it… the long-dead mage Ardrana Dreadenair, whose spirit was bound to a stone now buried deep within the cursed gardens of Crovenloft Estate.
Summoned by the eccentric sage Dan the Didactic, your party must slip past warded gates and stalking undead to find the Ghost Stone and compel the lingering specter inside to reveal her secrets. But time is short, the mists are thick, and the estate is far from abandoned.
Stray too close to the haunted manor, and you may awaken Stratinava, the vampiric heiress of Crovenloft, whose hunger for power (and blood) has not faded with time. If she senses your presence, death is a mercy. And undeath... a cruel fate.
